Jet polarisation in an anisotropic medium

چکیده
A bstract We study the evolution of an energetic jet which propagates in anisotropic quark-gluon plasma, as created intermediate stages ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. argue that partons should acquire a non-zero average polarisation proportional to medium anisotropy. first observe anisotropy introduces difference between rates for transverse momentum broadening along two directions perpendicular axis. In turn, this leads polarisation-dependent bias BDMPS-Z medium-induced gluon branching. Accordingly, daughter gluons branching process can carry net even if their parent was unpolarised. Using these splitting rates, we construct kinetic equations describe production and transmission via multiple medium. The solutions show is efficiently produced quasi-democratic branchings, but then it rapidly washed out by subsequent due inability soft keep trace parents. Based on that, conclude survive final state only sizeable escapes

Path Planning in an Anisotropic Medium
Many of the optimal path finding problems studied to-date are restricted to a direction-independent metric. In this paper we discuss path planning in an anisotropic medium illustrated by the fastest-path problem where speed is direction-dependent. Such problems arise in vessel routing, robotics, and aircraft navigation, where the agent’s speed is affected by the direction of waves, winds or slo...
متن کاملPolarisation in the Temperature Equilibration of Anisotropic Plasmas
The polarisation effect on the isotropisation of a magnetized bi-Maxwellian plasma is investigated in the weak coupling approximation. Based on the Rostoker collision operator, which reduces in the magnetic field free limit to the Balescu-Lenard operator, the equipartition frequency v is evaluated numerically for 0 and analytically for B-*oo, respectively. This frequency, depending nonlinearly ...
متن کاملDislocation Bias in an Anisotropic Diffusive Medium and Irradiation Growth
An understanding of the mechanisms producing dimensional changes in reactor structural materials is of major importance for reactor design purposes. When a crystalline material is irradiated by energetic neutrons, ions or electrons, damage is produced in the form of atomic displacements, which subsequently evolve into a supersaturation of freely migrating vacancies and interstitials * in the te...
متن کاملOptical Solitons in an Anisotropic Medium with Arbitrary Dipole Moments
We find the Lax pair for a system of reduced Maxwell–Bloch equations that describes the propagation of twocomponent extremely short electromagnetic pulses through the medium containing two-level quantum particles with arbitrary dipole moments.
متن کاملThe Density-Driven Nanofluid Convection in an Anisotropic Porous Medium Layer with Rotation and Variable Gravity Field: A Numerical Investigation
In this study, a numerical examination of the significance of rotation and changeable gravitational field on the start of nanofluid convective movement in an anisotropic porous medium layer is shown. A model that accounts for the impact of Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis is used for nanofluid, while Darcy’s law is taken for the porous medium. The porous layer is subjected to uniform rotat...
